lvan Bjørn is a 43 years old contemporary digital artist, currently based in Serbia. He has been working as a graphic designer and illustrator in the last 20 years and has done over 500 publications for book, music or magazine covers world wide. Yet, his main focus of attention has always been aimed towards painting, abstract art and social and cultural aspects of human behaviour throughout  history.

His digital work is rather an observation, a perception of the modern world in all of its cruelty and brutality. Fear of consequences of unforeseen could be a main motiff for introspective viewpoint in some of his work. Hence his decision to withdraw and dive into the abstract.

The visual balance in offset and matte colors is present in almost all of his works, trying to unify the influences between Yugoslav brutalism in architecture on the one hand and social or socialist realism on the other.

statement:

“My work is entirely based on principles of humanism and egaliterianism. Any other context (narrowed perspectives, biased, intolerant or prejudiced viewpoints) when interpreting would be wrong. Derivate work such as book covers, posters, or any other work sold to third parties trying to convey contrary standpoints or negate all of the above shall be considered corrupted by additional adjustments for which I don’t take any responsibility regarding the agreed ways of working and principles of ethical conduct.”
